EmTek Racing News - 2005

20/02/2005 - Vets Class Report - Race 1

Veterans Class

A new non-championship class has been established for those that are 40 years of age and older. The reason for the creation of this class is to give the late starters a chance of some form of recognition and offering an alternative for the geriatrics that still enjoy peddling a motorbike in anger. There has been a slow uptake but EmTek Racing does anticipate this to grow in the coming months. The series has been styled along similar lines to the Enduro and Off Road racing as sanctioned by MSA.

Leading the class at the moment is Ian Cameron (ZX 10 RR) closely followed by Gilbert Parsons on his Ducati with Trevor Elske a whisker behind in third place on his "loaned Yamaha R1" (soon to be replaced by a new ZX-10). Andy Parsons on his Aprilia is currently in fourth position.

The entry forms and regulations are posted on the web site and the formula used to calculate positions is available upon request. Emtek had to devise a formula to make it fair for riders in different classes and on different machines for the series.

The Vets Series is sponsored by EmTek Racing and iAdapt Software.
