Young child prodigy Sheridan again amazed the run of the mill factory riders
with his amazing riding abilities by putting in some strong laps in practice and
qualifying. His grid position belies the fact that he was in 12th position and yet only 1
second from pole position. All the times tumbled for the Phakisa show
and Russel Wood managed a 1:40:1 which is fantastic
considering the GP 250cc are only marginally quicker than that. Heat 1 saw Shez come for an early shower as he suspected a flat but in reality
he needed the toilet. Heat 2 saw a man in a boys body possessed
and after starting stone last on the grid he fought his way up through the field and
eventually settled for 9th position. Shez still leads the
Privateers championship by a country mile and is ahead of some of the factory riders in
the overall standings. As a result of the Regionals and Nationals clashing on the same day Shez opted out of the Regionals due to his enormous lead. He has obviously now forfeited 40 points but Pietersburg will see him crowned the new Regional Champ - so come and support him and bring lots of beers, champagne or contracts for him to sign.
