04/10/2003 - Gilbert does battle with the track (Part 2)

Zwartkops again proved to be an enigma for Gilbert. Unfortunately he does not wait to race before he crashes but prefers to crash in practise. This always offers other riders an opportunity to recount their grid positions as the bets are usually 10:1 Gilbert will crash. As is his usual format the crash was of a freak nature whereby the front brakes failed completely (there is a lot of speculation as to why they failed but the issue is he could not stop). Turn 4 is not the best turn to try out the new Brakeless pads and discs on a Ducati. When the front wheel siezed it spat Gilbert off like a bucking Bronco with his gnads all tied up.

The result of the crash (which also had the bike pushing him along into the gravel trap as if he wasnt going there in the first place) has left Gilbert with considerable damage again to his already broken body. Suffice to say his Orthood has now ordered a Porsche GT3 and sees Gilbert as a life long friend.

No results for the day AGAIN - zero, nada, fokol, zip, ziltch (can we make it any more obvious he is pissed off).

At least he is trying desparately to stay out of the top 10 positions by missing 4 rounds with no points.
