20/09/2003 - Gilbert battles the track at Lichtenburg

Gilbert raced his Ducati at this circuit for the first time and for the Friday practice battled with bike setup.

His times were consitstantly 3 seconds slower than the other BOTT riders and as well as being slower than his time on the Yamaha R6.

This is a track that Gilbert dislikes intensely and always struggles here.

Heat 1 saw a good dice with fellow competitor Derek Odendaal and Gilbert beat him to the line by 300th of a second to take 8th place.

Heat 2 saw the reverse with the gap again within 1 second. Unfortunately the second heat ended with some crashes.
