20/09/2003 - Andy battles at Lichtenburg

Andy raced for the first time at Lichtenburg on his Honda SP1 which proved to be a bit of a beast at this small, tight and bumpy track.

One of the areas of weakness on these bikes is braking and unfortunately Andy had to brake 50m before the brake markers to slow the 200kg bohemouth on the tight right hander leading onto the main straight.

Andy finished a creditable 12th overall and achieved a best time of 51:01 around this track.

Andy now lies 12th in the championship and hopes to improve on his placings at Zwartkops which is a more flowing circuit and suits the Honda better.
