20/09/2003 - Sheridan does the double again

Sheridan Morais does the double again. Northern Regions 600cc Silver Cup racer Sheridan Morais again proved his ability as the leading motorcycle talent by taking another double win at a very bumpy Lichtenburg circuit. After a poor start in the first heat which saw Sheridan go into turn 1 in third, he emerged at the end of lap 1 in the lead and that was how he ended the heat.

For heat 2 Sheridan had a good pull off and lead from start to finish. Sheridan has extended his lead in the championship to 92 points over his nearest rivals, Jaco Roux and Donovan Fourie. The track proved to be a bit of a challenge to some of the competitors as the surface had deteriorated constantly from Friday's practice.

Sheridan is now almost in reach of the 600 cc Silvercup championship.

The weekend was not without its problems, however. Sheridan blew his clutch on Friday during practice and then forgot to get dressed for the first race.

The Emtek team finished the weekend with bikes and riders intact. The same could not be said for some other riders however. The track was very bumpy and also quite slippery and there were several "offs".
